Is HTTP Basic Auth a dark pattern?

@v0tti But you can still try to build a workaround for this. Basic Auth don't cares from where the login comes. Grab some static HTML page, write some JS and point the URL in your password manager to your own page.

@clerie That's not the question. If I have to build my own tools around it to make it usable/secure, I would consider it a dark pattern if implemented in the "traditional" way.
